Eleven nations have finalists at the Asian Elite Boxing Championships
Kazakhstan, India, Uzbekistan, DPR Korea, China, Chinese Taipei, Mongolia, Thailand, Japan, Jordan and Tajikistan have finalists at the Asian Elite Boxing Championships in Ulaanbaatar.
India’s Minakshi won the first semi-final of the day against Thailand’s Thipsatcha Yodwaree and she joined the finals of the women’s 48kg. She will now meet Mongolia’s Nomundari Enkh-Amgalan who eliminated Kazakhstan’s Aigerim Sattibayeva in another superb contest.
Thailand’s defending Asian Champion, Punrawee Ruenros was too smart for Tajikistan’s Olympian Mizhgona Samadova and she will be boxing to get her next gold against India’s Jaismine Lamboriya who eliminated Uzbekistan’s Nigina Uktamova at the 57kg.
Kazakhstan’s Youth World Champion Sabyrzhan Akkalykov progressed a lot in the recent years and he is now a finalist at the men’s 75kg after stopping Mongolia’s veteran Ganzorig Dalai with heavy combinations.
The World Boxing Cup gold medallist Javokhir Abdurakhimov is not an experienced elite boxer yet but he had the strong performance to beat India’s Akash in the second semi-final of the men’s 75kg.
Kazakhstan’s World Champion, Nurbek Oralbay dominated all of the three rounds against Mongolia’s Bariakhaan Dorj and he joined the dream final of the 85kg with Uzbekistan’s Jasurbek Yuldashev who had a clear success over India’s Lokesh.
Nurbek’s twin brother, the reigning World Champion of the super heavyweight, Aibek controlled all of the three rounds against Turkmenistan’s lone medallist, Dovlet Yslamov, and his final opponent will be China’s Xinjiang-based Danabieke Bayikewuzi.
India’s Vishvanath Suresh eliminated his main rival, Kazakhstan’s Sanzhar Tashkenbay already in the quarter-finals and he was too strong for Jordan’s Huthaifa Eshish therefore he will now meet Japan’s Daichi Iwai for the gold of the 50kg.
Kazakhstan’s Orazbek Assylkulov, India’s Sachin, Jordan’s Hussein Iashaish, Tajikistan’s Parviz Karimov and Uzbekistan’s Khalimjon Mamasoliyev are also finalists in Mongolia.
