Twenty-three contests have been scheduled on the third competition day at the 18th edition of the Silesian Women’s Open Tournament in Gliwice, Poland.

Poland’s Amelia Kostrzewa and Hungary’s Nikolett Kovacs both worked hard in the semi-finals of the youth light middleweight (70kg) on Day3. The Hungarian received two warnings during the real fight and Kostrzewa had the tight success in a fantastic battle.

Sofia Stigen Sorensen, the Youth World bronze finisher, succeeded over Poland’s Julia Oles in their semi-final.

Hungary’s European Youth Champion Zsofia Szira defeated a European Junior Champion Polish girl, Sandra Van der Zanden once again in the first semi-final of the youth heavyweight (+81kg) on their re-match.

The 18-year-old Hungarian will be boxing for the gold medal with Germany’s Sara Glaser who had a surprise success over Ireland’s Cliona D’Arcy in the next semi-final.

Poland’s Sandra Drabik, the former European Games silver medallist, had an important selection bout against her young teammate, Wiktoria Rogalinska, but her routine supported her narrow success.

England’s Chantelle Reid is back on track after so many years of hiatus and she had a brilliant success over Kazakhstan’s Fariza Sholtay. Her teammate, a European Junior Champion talent, Sacha Hickey had an emerging and quick success over a local girl.

Norway’s Youth World Champion Sunniva Hofstad is only 19, but she had the power and the experience to stop Kazakhstan’s Aida Saribarova at the middleweight (75kg).
