Espinoza dethrones Ramirez, Zayas continues to impress
Rafael Espinoza (24-0) won the WBO World featherweight title on Saturday night in Pembroke Pines, USA.
Espinoza beat the reigning champion, Cuban Robeisy Ramirez (13-2) via majority decision.
Two judges, Benoit Roussell (114:112) and Steve Weisfeld (115:111), saw Mexican Espinoza as winner. Judge Efrain Lebron scored the bout as draw, 113:113.
In undercard prodigy Xander Zayas (18-0) continues to impress. 21-year-old super-welterweight defeated NABF and WBO NABO titles by beating Spanish Jorge Fortea (24-4-1) via stoppage in round six.
