Rodriguez stops Edwards, unifies WBO and IBF titles

Jesse Rodriguez (19-0) unified WBO and IBF titles in flyweight division. 23-year-old stopped Sunny Edwards of UK on December 16 in Glendale. Edwards retired on ninth round. Rodriguez was clear ahead on points.

Rodriguez came in the fight as WBO World champion and added IBF title that was held by Edwards.

In the same event Murodjon Akhmadaliev (12-1) of Uzbekistan stopped Kevin Gonzalez (26-1-1) in round eight in the fight for WBA super-bantamweight title eliminator.
