Turkish boxer Cem Kilic passes away at age of 29
Turkish boxing prospect Cem Kilic has been found dead at age of 29.
Kilic, who was born in Germany before relocating in USA, has been battling with substance addiction and mental health issues in recent years.
According to “Boxing Scene”, an apparent overdose was the cause of death, and his death was confirmed on Friday by president of Turkish Boxing Federation, Eyup Gozgec.
Cem Kilic fought 18 times in professional boxing, winning 17 of them.
His only loss came from hands of Steven Nelson in January 2020. It was for vacant WBO NABO title in super-middleweight. He also fought on undercard of Tyson Fury’s win over Tom Schwarz in Las Vegas in 2019.
