The Adriatic Pearl Youth Boxing World Cup started with the participation of 22 countries in Budva

The Adriatic Pearl Youth Boxing World Cup started with 37 preliminary contest in the city of Budva, Montenegro.

Montenegro hosted the last edition of the European U22 Boxing Championships and the European Men’s Elite Cup.

Altogether 93 female and 152 male boxers are competing in this important international youth event this week. Boxers who were born in 2006 and in 2007, are eligible to participate in the Adriatic Pearl Youth Boxing World Cup.

Albania, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cuba, France, Georgia, Greece, India, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Mexico, host Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia, Switzerland, and Turkey are the 22 participating countries in the event.

The Polish girls are among the bests in the European continent and their Wanessa Gruchala needed less than two rounds to finish her job against Kosovo’s Veliu Erinda. Her teammate in the male squad, Igor Soczowka caused a small surprise when he defeated Mexico’s Edgar Pinacho in a hectic contest on Day1.

Kazakhstan’s Yelyanur Turganova won one of the tightest female contests in the first competition day in Budva. The young Kazakh talent eliminated France’s Aya Baadi by split decision at the women’s light flyweight (50kg).

The Kazakhs and the Indians have been preparing to the upcoming Asian Youth Boxing Championships therefore both countries sent huge delegations to Budva. Babita Singh (54kg) and Nikita Chand (60kg) both delighted the Indian fans with their performance on Day1.

Slovenia’s Naca Nikolov Veber is their best female prospect from the previous years and she decided her bout quickly against Kosovo’s Djelza Halili at the women’s light welterweight (63kg). Another powerful girl in this weight class, Azerbaijan’s European Youth Champion Emili Rzayeva also won her first contest by RSC.

Georgia’s Daviti Bakradze, Kazakhstan’s Zhanseri Kosherbayev, France’s Sandro Spica and Croatia’s Pino Domitran all won tight contests in the men’s part of the preliminaries.
