Parker beats Zhang, wins WBO Interim title

Joseph Parker (35-3) survived two knockdowns and beat China’s Zhilei Zhang (26-2-1) to claim WBO Interim World heavyweight title.

Parker was dropped in rounds three and eight of the fight held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Friday night.

But he was controlling most of rounds.

In the end two judges, Steve Gray (114:112) and Patrick Morley (115:111), scored the fight in favor of Parker and one, Zoltan Enyedi, scored as draw (113:113). Zhang was not happy with the result.

It was second impressive win in a row for Parker.

He beat clear on points, Deontay Wilder, in December last year.
