Madrimov – Crawford in USA?

Discussions are underway to promote a fight between newly crowned WBA super-welterweight champion Uzbek, Israil Madrimov (10-0-1) and three division, also unbeaten champion Terence Crawford (40-0-0) on Aug 3 in Los Angeles.

This would mark Saudi Arabia’s Turki Alalshikh’s debut in the American boxing scene, with Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing company. While the deal is not yet finalized, Alalshikh has expressed interest, posting a photo of Crawford with championship belts.

If confirmed, it would be Crawford’s bid for a fourth weight class title, and Madrimov’s first defense after winning the WBA belt in Riyadh this March. The focus now is on finalizing the main event, but given the venues history, supporting fights are expected to feature top talent.
