Champions and stars will make their final preparations for Paris in the French Pre-Olympic training camp

The teams will start their final phase of preparations for the Paris Olympics next week and one of the French cities, Nancy will welcome stars in the upcoming days.

Bulgaria, China, Colombia, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, France, Hungary, Italy, Jordan, Palestine, Poland, Puerto Rico, Serbia, Spain, Thailand, Uzbekistan, and Zambia all will be there in the French Pre-Olympic Training Camp.

Altogether 69 nations and 248 boxers will be competing at the boxing tournament of the Paris Olympics from July 27.

The Olympic boxing competition will be held in the North Paris Arena between July 27 and August 4 and after the rest day, the Roland Garros Arena will be the venue from August 6 to decide the medals and the title contests.

Arlen Lopez (80kg) and Julio Cesar La Cruz (92kg) both are two-time Olympic Games winners and they are aiming for their third historic titles in Paris. The Cuban duo will make their final preparations in the French pre-Olympic training camp with all of their teammates.

Billal Bennama (51kg) and the two-time World Champion Sofiane Oumiha (63.5kg) are the two top French boxers in the training camp in Nancy and both have strong Olympic gold medal expectations on home soil in Paris.

Hasanboy Dusmatov and Bakhodir Jalolov earned Olympic gold medals for Uzbekistan in Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo but Abdumalik Khalokov, Ruslan Abdullayev and Asadkhudja Muydinkhudjayev are also strong favourites in Paris.

The management of the Uzbekistan Boxing Federation decided to send their next generation of boxers to the training camp as well to feel the Olympic preparations. Among them Jakhongir Zokirov (+92kg) is already a five-time Asian Champion in various age groups.

Italy’s World silver medallist Aziz Abbes Mouhiidine (92kg), Bulgaria’s European Games winner Javier Ibanez (57kg), Thailand’s promising Thitisan Panmot (51kg), and China’s Asian Games winner Tuohetaerbieke Tanglatihan (80kg) are also participating in the training camp in France before the Olympics.
