Twenty-nine contests are scheduled at the Ulaanbaatar Boxing Cup on Day1

The Technical Meeting and the Official Draw of the World Boxing Cup Ulaanbaatar 2024 took place in Mongolia’s capital city today.

The event will be starting with a busy day, 29 contests tomorrow and the attending 100 boxers had hard preparations to this important international cup.

The Ulaanbaatar Boxing Cup will be the next World Boxing event in the annual calendar of the elite women and men boxers in the capital city of Mongolia in September 21-27.

Australia, China, England, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mongolia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, and Wales are participating in the Ulaanbaatar Boxing Cup.

Altogether 39 women and 61 men boxers are competing for the eleven available titles in Ulaanbaatar. The women’s light flyweight (50kg) has 12 boxers but the men’s light welterweight (63.5kg) is also popular with their 14 pugilists.

Mongolia’s Balsan Mungunsaran and England’s returning Ivy-Jane Smith will open the entire competition at the women’s bantamweight (54kg) tomorrow.

Mongolia’s former Asian Champion, the 37-year-old Bolortuul Tumurkhuyag decided to continue her career and she will meet South Korea’s Kim Hyo Jeong first but China’s new sensation, Ruan Mulan also will make her debut at the women’s featherweight (57kg).

The next wave of the men’s flyweight (51kg) such as China’s Liu Chuang, Australia’s Jye Dixon, Germany’s Miles Okay and Philippines’ Asian U22 Champion Aaron Jude Bado all will be starting their road in the first session.

Mongolia’s Dorjnyambuu Ganbold progressed so rapidly in the previous two years and the Seed No.1 of the men’s featherweight (57kg) will meet a powerful opponent, Philippines’ veteran Ian Clark Bautista who has 12 years of international experience.

Another big puncher from the Philippines, Mark Ashley Fajardo is only 20 but he knocked out most of his recent rivals. The young Filipino will meet Japan’s World Olympic Qualifying Event quarter-finalist Shion Nishiyama in an anticipated bout on Day1.
