Wardley destroys Clarke in one, Opetaia impressive against Massey
Fabio Wardley (18-0-1, 17 KOs) scored a big knockout victory over his British rival Frazer Clarke (8-1-1) on Saturday night in Riyad, Saudi Arabia.
It was a rematch between two Britain’s heavyweights, after their first fight in May had ended in a split draw.
In a rematch Wardley finished things in round one. He rocked Clarke in the final minute of round and dropped him with strong right. Clarke jaw was fractured.
The fight was for BBBofC and Commonwealth heavyweight titles. It was in the card Artur Beterbiev – Dmitrii Bivol for undisputed light-heavyweight title.
On the same card Australia’s, Jai Opetaia (26-0) defended his IBF World cruiserweight title stopping Jack Massey (22-3) on the round six.
Chris Eubank Jr (34-3) stopped Poland’s Kamil Szeremeta (25-3-2) in round seven in the fight for IBO World middleweight title. After the fight Eubank Jr and Connor Benn showed in the ring readiness to face each-other.
