Tsutsumi upsets Inoue, wins WBA title

Seiya Tsutsumi (12-0-2) won his first world title, upsetting on Sunday in Tokyo, Takouma Inoue (20-2) in the fight for WBA World bantamweight title.

The younger brother of “Monster”, Naoya Inoue, Takouma was defending the title that he won on April last year. It was the second title defense but still didn’t go according to plan. Tsutsumi out-fought him. In the end he won via unanimous decision (117:110, 114:113 and 115:112).

In the co-main event Kenshiro Teraji (24-1) claimed a world title in second weight class.

He won the WBC World flyweight title, stopping Nicaraguan Cristofer Rosales (37-7) in round eleven.

Seigo Yuri Akui (21-2-1) retained WBA flyweight title beating via split decision Thailand’s Thananchai Charunphak (25-2). And Shokichi Iwata (14-1) won the WBO World light-flyweight title stoping Jairo Noriega (14-1) of Spain in round three.
