Natroshvili and Micock won the best bouts in the fourth session

Georgia’s Giorgi Natroshvili made a remarkable comeback after the first round and he won the best bout of the fourth session of the IBA Youth World Boxing Championships in Budva where Seychelles’ Jade Ethan Micock was also outstanding in the last bout.

DPR Korea’s Kim Kwon Il has strong traditions at the men’s minimumweight (48kg) therefore Russia’s Ivan Kurbachev could expect a hard battle in the opener. Kim found his best tempo in the middle of the first round when he started to land his hooks effectively against the experienced Russian which guaranteed his triumph.

Venezuela’s Kelvin Jose Betancourt had a brave attempt to follow Kazakhstan’s Dias Berikbay’s fast movements. The Kazakh moved forward without any stoppage and he caught Betancourt with heavy shots to win their minimumweight (48kg) contest in Budva.

Morocco’s 18-year-old Othman Chadghour claimed a silver medal at the 2023 Arab Youth Boxing Championships and he proved brilliant style of boxing against Armenia’s Vagharshak Keyan.

Azerbaijan’s Abbasgulu Shadlinski shocked his favourite opponent, the European Junior Champion Giorgi Natroshvili in the first round and the referee counted the Georgian twice. Natroshvili received the right advice in the break and his tempo was different in the second round when the Azeri boxer was also counted two-times. The Georgian made a big U-turn in this contest after the first round and he won the best bout of the session unanimously.

Poland’s Junior World Champion Fabian Urbanski destroyed his opponent, Croatia’s Daniel Dukic in the first round and the Sri Lankan referee stopped their middleweight (75kg) contest. Another powerful boxer in this weight class, Hungary’s European Junior Champion Krisztian Nileborg stopped his rival from Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Rakhmanberdiyev.

Russia’s Adam Murtazaliyev and Cuba’s Yurisniel Abreu will meet in the Round of 16 of the middleweight (75kg) following their victories today while Seychelles’ Jade Ethan Micock impressed in the last bout.
