The Liventsev Memorial Tournament started with 12 bouts
The Liventsev Memorial Tournament has just opened in Minsk, Belarus where twelve contests were on the official agenda on the first day of boxing.
Altogether 30 female and 50 male pugilists are participating in the Liventsev Memorial Tournament which has the tradition of decades from the past.
Abkhazia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Congo, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are the participating countries in the new edition of the Liventsev Memorial Tournament in Minsk.
Russia’s Daria Novinskaya had excellent junior and youth career and her opener was a great success, she defeated a local girl, Vlada Bazylevich by RSC in the third round at the women’s light welterweight (63kg).
That category is very busy with eight top names on the board and after Novinskaya, another excellent future hope has succeeded, Kazakhstan’s Aknar Ishchanova who outpointed Belarus’ Viktoriya Borisova on Day1.
Hungary’s Diana Cifra is the only girl from her homeland who travelled to the competition and she walked over to the semi-finals after Yana Novoshinskaya of Belarus was unable to box against her. Cifra has been preparing to their Elite National Championships and the Liventsev Memorial Tournament is a perfect option for her.
Belarus’ Artur Tuniyeu moved up to the light welterweight (63.5kg) in the recent months and the 24-year-old boxer opened his campaign with a success over Russia’s Ivan Grigoryev, winning the bout unanimously.
The host nation’s Stefan Shparun, Aleksey Gatsakov and Vladislav Smolouski all succeeded at the light welterweight (63.5kg) on Day1 while Russia’s Sergey Yarulin impressed at the men’s featherweight (57kg).
Turkmenistan’s welterweight (67kg) boxer, Batyr Velmammedov travelled to Minsk to increase his international experience, but Belarus’ Maksim Govorov demolished his dreams in the new edition of the Liventsev Memorial Tournament.
