Kruzito Kovacs delivered the top sensation of the Hell Boxing Kings today
The third part of the quarter-finals took place at the Hell Boxing Kings in the DVTK Arena in Miskolc, Hungary this night and the seven contest delighted the evening of the boxing fans.
Azerbaijan’s Rio Olympics bronze medallist Kamran Shakhsuvarly had a massive height advantage against Romania’s Alexandru Macingo in the first quarter-final today. The small Romanian surprised his Azeri opponent in the first round with aggressive attacks but Shakhsuvarly regained the control in the second period of their quarter-final. Macingo ran out from fuel in the third and following the Azeri boxer’s heavy body shots he went down to the floor and Shakhsuvarly advanced to the semi-finals.
Bulgaria’s two-time European Champion Daniel Asenov faced Hungary’s Kruzito Kovacs at the lightweight today. The Bulgarian looked energetic in the first round against his 20-year-old opponent. Kovacs was not only brave in their lightweight (60kg) quarter-final but he found the best distance against the Bulgarian in time. The younger Hungarian felt the support of the crowd and he delivered the sensational of the day with his points decision victory.
One of the most promising Hungarian boxers, Rafael Buza met Romania’s Marian Onuta at the welterweight in a key quarter-final bout. The 20-year-old Hungarian maintained the best fighting range in the tactical first round when Onuta also had the same strong defensive skills as Buza. The Romanian received not only straight punches from the Hungarian side but tough body shots as well and he was not able to continue their quarter-final.
Hungary’s Soma Mester lives in the city of Miskolc and he Greece’s Nikolaos Evangelos Kattis, who has the same fighting style. Mester was taller than his Greek opponent but Kattis had the strong pressure in the first round to take their opener in Miskolc. The 23-year-old Hungarian produced a great finish in the second round and due Kattis looked exhausted in the fourth, he could win their super tight contest on home soil.
