World-class female finals at the Mongolian National Championships

The Mongolian Elite National Championships finished with its 17 final contests in their capital city in Ulaanbaatar and top female boxers shined in the title bouts.

Altogether 49 female and 124 male boxers participated in the Mongolian Elite National Championships for the 17 available gold medals.

The Women’s World silver medallist Lutsaikhan Altantsetseg won the first female final of the Nationals but she had to do her very best against Janarguli Byeisyenbyei in the final.

Balsan Mungunsaran also won her final by 3:2 split decision as Altantsetseg and she had the great finish against Purevdorj Khulan at the 51kg.

Mongolia’s Paris Olympian Yesugen Oyuntsetseg moved up to the bantamweight (54kg) but she had a comfortable triumph over Nergui Oyun-Erdene.

Erdenedalai Michidmaa was slightly better than Bolortuul Tumurkhuyag in the women’s featherweight (57kg) final while the Olympian Enkhjargal Munguntsetseg defeated the Asian medallist Namuun Monkhor at the lightweight (60kg) which was the best female title contest.

Badmaarag Ganzorig is only 22-year-old but she had the experience to beat Zolboo Sainbayar easily before Erdenetuya Enkhbaatar stopped her final opponent, Sarnaitsetseg Erdenebat.

Battulga Aldarkhishig shined in the entire Nationals and the Asian Youth medallist Tuvshinzaya Otgonbayar was also not able to stop him in the first male final.

Bilgunsaikhan Kharkhuu stopped his final opponent but the next title bout delivered a fantastic show between two stars. Lundaa Gantumur had hard road to the finals of the lightweight (60kg) and he was not enough fresh to beat Enkhtur Tegshjargal.

Bat-Ulzii Erdenetsogt caused the main sensation in the Nationals when he defeated the World bronze medallist Battumur Misheelt in their exciting final bout. Jandos Askhar (70kg), Byamba-Erdene Otgonbaatar (75kg) and Beknur Khali (+90kg) all accomplished their mission with gold medals in the Nationals.
