Cesar La Cruz stops Prasovic in WBA final-eliminator in a historic event in Cuba

Julio Cesar La Cruz (4-0, 4 KOs), double Olympic champion and five times World champion in amateur boxing, stopped Montenegro’s Dilan Prasovic (18-6, 15 KOs) in round three and earned the right to fight for WBA World bridgerweight title.

Agon Sport organized an historic professional boxing event in Cubam where main fight was the one between La Cruz and Prasovic.

La Cruz was dropped once in round two by Prasovic, but he dropped Prasovic four times, thrice in round three and won the fight.

He will be now the official challenger of WBA bridgerweight champion Muslim Gadzhimagomedov (6-0, 3 KOs).

Was the first professional boxing event in Cuba since 1962.

In co-main event Erislandy Alvarez (4-0, 2 KOs, the Olympic champion from Paris 2024, knocked-out Brainer Vasquez Soli (21-6-1, 13 KOs)  in the first round and won the WBA Continental Latin America super-lightweight title

Lazaro Alvarez (7-0, 4 KOs) stopped Miguel Queliz Santos (10-1-1, 4 KOs) in the fight for WBA Continental America title in lightweight. After seven rounds, Santos retired.

Arlen Lopez (4-0, 2 KOs) got a convincing point victory over Argentina’s Martin Ezequiel Bulacio (14-9, 10 KOs) in the fight for WBA Continental Latin America light-heavyweight title. All three judges saw Alvarez as winner after 10 rounds (99:91, 100:90, 100:90).

Moussa Gholam (23-1, 14 KOs) won the WBA Continental Americas super-featherweight title with a knockout victory over Misael Vasquez (17-5-1, 15 KOs).

Yakelin Estornell (1-0, 1 KOs) won the first title in her professional debut. She defeated Lina Tejada (13-6-1) with stoppage in round two and won the WBA Fedelatin title in welterweight.
