The Brazilian male boxers were brilliant in the finals of the Astana World Boxing Cup

The Brazilian male boxers delivered brilliant performance in the finals of the Astana World Boxing Cup in Kazakhstan.

Kazakhstan’s World Champion and Asian Champion Sanzhar Tashkenbay won the smallest weight class in the men’s part of the competition, he outpointed Philippines’ young Jay Bryan Baricuatro from his safest distance in Astana.

Brazil’s best male boxer, Luiz Gabriel Oliveira had some difficult contest during the road to the finals at the 60kg but he delivered his very best with perfect timing against Mongolia’s Gantumur Lundaa to take the title.   

Brazil’s Yuri Falcao Dos Reis progressed every year step by step and after four years of international experience, he had the technical skills to beat India’s Abhinash Jamwal in the final of the men’s 65kg weight class.

Brazil’s Kaian Oliveira Reis joined the top national team year and he immediately won the title of the Grand Prix in Usti nad Labem. The 23-year-old Brazilian was unstoppable also in Astana, he triumphed over India’s Hitesh in the final of the 70kg weight category.

France’s European U22 Champion Yojerlin Cesar has got brilliant technical skills but he was not the favourite against Kazakhstan’s Olympic silver medallist Nurbek Oralbay. The French boxer had longer reach than the Kazakh star and he exceeded the expectations with his gold medal in Astana.

Turkey’s Emrah Yasar is a new sensation at the men’s 90kg weight class who defeated Kazakhstan’s Sagyndyk Togambay in a superb semi-final but he lost the final to Brazil’s Isaias Ribeiro Filho who replaced Keno Machado in the national squad.

After Nurbek’s unexpected loss, his twin brother, the Asian Champion Aibek Oralbay was energetic in the final of the super heavyweight against Germany’s Nikita Putilov and he earned the last gold medal of the Cup.
