Sanchez vs. Torrez IBF eliminator expected on March 28

The IBF eliminator fight in heavyweight division between Frank Sanchez (25-1, 18 KOs) and Richard Torrez Jr. (14-0, 12 KOs) is expected to be held on March 28 in Las Vegas. Dan Rafael reports that the deal between teams was agreed and purse bid was canceled.

Bout will be in undercard of Sebastian Fundora vs Keith Thurman fight for WBC World super-welterweight title.

Torrez last fought in November, stopping Tomas Salek of Czech Republic in first round. Cuba’s Frank Sanchez defeated Ramon Olivas Echeverria of Mexico in February last year via stoppage in round three.

Ukraine’s Oleksandr Usyk is IBF World heavyweight champion. Winner of Sanchez vs. Torrez Jr. will be mandatory challenger.
