The Strandja Memorial Tournament has 36 nations on its entry list
One of the stars of the international events, the Strandja Memorial Tournament has 36 nations and more than 300 boxers on its entry list as of today.
The 77th Strandja Memorial Tournament will be held in Sofia, Bulgaria between February 21 and March 2 but its pre-training camp is also an important step for the development of the boxers.
Algeria, Armenia, Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Croatia, Cuba, Czech Republic, Egypt, England, Finland, Georgia, Germany, Haiti, Ireland, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Mongolia, Morocco, North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Sierra Leone, Switzerland, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, United States, Uzbekistan and Wales are the registered nations.
The first competition day will be on February 23 in Sofia while the finals are scheduled to be held on March 1.
The next edition of the Strandja Memorial could be a platform to the new talents on their road for the qualifying events of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.
The Bulgarian Boxing Federation has professional staff and strong experience how to host big championships and top events every year.
The last 76th Strandja Memorial Tournament delivered emotional finals in the Sofia, Bulgaria where the local favourite Sevda Asenova, China’s Li Qian, Kazakhstan’s Torekhan Sabyrkhan and Uzbekistan’s Jakhongir Zokirov were among the star winners.
