Kirillov, Djoric and Sokac eliminated strong rivals at the Adriatic Pearl Tournament
Bulgaria’s Maksim Kirillov, Serbia’s Djordje Djoric and Croatia’s Dominik Sokac eliminated experienced opponents in the Adriatic Pearl Youth Tournament in Budva On Day2.
The Adriatic Pearl Youth Tournament is one of the strongest competitions for the 17 and 18-year-old boxers and all of the top boxing nations sent boxers to the competition to the boxing city of Budva.
Serbia’s Nikola Bogatinovski competed first in the international stage at the 2022 European Schoolboys Boxing Championships therefore he had the routine to beat his teammate, Ognjen Bidzic by 4:1 split decision at the 60kg.
Kazakhstan’s Daniyar Akbissenov competed in the last edition of the Adriatic Pearl Tournament and he returned to Budva with upgraded technical skills to beat Azerbaijan’s Ali Bakhshov at the 60kg weight class.
Ruslan Ruslanov lives and trains in the city of Almaty and since the 2025 edition of the Bekzat Sattarkhanov Tournament, the Kazakh 60kg boxer proved his strong progress against Poland’s Oskar Manka in Budva.
Sweden has new national team members in this age group but their Ruohin Isak Abdulwahab worked well enough to bear Croatia’s more experienced Petar Krpan in the next 60kg preliminary contest.
Kyrgyzstan’s Asian Youth bronze medallist Umar Orusbayev had a hard but successful job against Estonia’s Artem Kotliarskyi on Day2. His teammate, Kutmanbiy Muratov also the routine from the Asian events to beat Ukraine’s Danylo Rokhtin by unanimous decision.
Bulgaria’s Maksim Kirillov just joined from the U17 age group but he had an exceptional job against Cuba’s Arley Rodriguez and the 16-year-old youngster delivered one of the sensations of the day.
Serbia’s Djordje Djoric delivered the next sensational performance in the second day of boxing when he stopped Azerbaijan’s Ismayil Valiyev at the 80kg weight category.
Croatia’s duo as Juraj Tutundzic (80kg) and Dominik Sokac (85kg) both succeeded in the session, they eliminated strong Ukrainian and Kazakh opponents in Budva.
