Several stoppages in the opening day at the World Boxing U19 Future Cup and Benin’s Salonon made the surprise

The World Boxing U19 Future Cup started with its first competition day in Bangkok, Thailand where several boxers won their contests by RSC.

Australia’s Maia Laird won two out of the three rounds against Belgium’s Yara Vrins and she won her opener at the women’s 51kg. Her Aussie teammate, Nathan Mlacic had a close success against Benin’s Barnabe Hounnougbe at the men’s 50kg.

Tajikistan’s Asian Junior Champion Farinoz Abdulloyeva and India’s powerful Joyshree Devin Chirom had to meet in the first preliminary round. The Indian shocked her technician opponent and the referee confirmed Chirom’s RSC success in the second round.

England’s European Champion Jaya Kalsi dominated her first contest against New Zealand’s Isabella Parkes while Germany’s promising Lorin Sayim also stopped her opponent, Senegal’s Khadija Boiro in the opening round.

DPR Korea has a fantastic female team and their Un Gyong Jon controlled all of the three rounds against Italy’s Serena Scalco at the women’s 54kg preliminary.

Uzbekistan’s Sabrina Chakomanova eliminated China’s Wang Yaorunyu in one of the best contests of the women’s 54kg.

Benin’s Elisabeth Salanon was a medallist in the recent African Youth Games but her success over Romania’s Andreea Ionela Negoita was one of the top sensations of the first competition day.

Uzbekistan’sAbdugani Yorkinjonov made a fantastic opener against Armenia’s Tigran Kirakosyan while New Zealand’s Dean Hurikawa was also dominant over Venezuela’s Roswell Dominguez at the 50kg.

Japan’s Akira Uekubo made one of the top performances at the 50kg and he stopped Turkey’s Cengizhan Akcimen with heavy punches.

Georgia’s Shalva Beridze used his brilliant technical skills against Jordan’s Osamah Alkhaldi and he marched to the next stage at the 50kg.

Tajikistan’s Amirbek Makhramov, Kazakhstan’s Doszhan Zhumakan, Mauritius’ Julian Agathe, Turkmenistan’s Muhammet Nazarov, Uzbekistan’s Bobomurod Boymirzayev and Jordan’s Wesam Wahidi all won their contests with superiority at the 60kg.
