Patrick Cappai (8-0) won the WBC Youth Silver featherweight title. Cappai on Saturday night in Cagliari, Italy, beat Nicaraguan Darwing Martinez (8-17-2) via unanimous decision. Cappai was supposed to fight French Jeremy Bernardin. But Bernardin canceled at last moment cause of law problems. Martinez came as substitute and he made very good fight.
Francesco Grandelli (18-2-2) won EBU Silver featherweight title on December 16 in Torino, Italy. Grandelli stopped Belgian Stefan Voda (14-1) in round two of the main fight of the show that was promoted by Alessandro Cherchi. In the same show, Sandor Martin (42-3) of Spain KO’d Mohamed El Marcouchi (29-4) of Belgium in fourth round.
