Motekiai Huni travelled through the world but the Kiwi boxer started well at the German U17 Tournament

New Zealand’s new hope from the junior age group, Motekiai Huni impressed in the German U17 International Open Tournament in Lindow on Day1.

The new junior international event started with three sessions in Germany today and 31 boxers won their openers.

Netherlands’ Liz Thijssen competed at the Golden Girl Box Cup with success earlier this year and she had the technical superiority to beat Germany’s Joelle Heuer at the women’s featherweight (57kg) in Lindow.

Czech Republic’s Nela Prochazkova had good results in the national events but she was stopped by one of the top Germans, Lorin Sayim today. Charlotte Kienel won the next Germany vs. Czech Republic battle against Barbora Rosyvkova at the lightweight (60kg).

Germany’s Junior National Champion Calvin Mattern was too speedy for Denmark’s Eran Buldak in the first bout of the men’s pinweight (46kg) today. Another top German in the junior national team suffered a loss to Czech Republic’s Lukas Zoubek at the bantamweight (54kg).

Motekiai Huni travelled nearly 20,000 km from New Zealand to Germany to compete in Lindow and he looked energetic against Germany’s Maik Absatarov in their bantamweight (54kg) meeting despite the long travel.   

Germany’s Baker Nemer was Junior National Champion earlier this year and he made a sensational performance against Australia’s Zyler Feenan today. The further Germans at the men’s featherweight (57kg) Rafail Nurislamov and Youssef Al-Manouchi both succeeded on Day1.

Australia’s prides, their top male junior duo, Thomas Haworth (60kg) and Judd Alderton (66kg) opened their pathways successfully against Danish and German boxers.

Tomas Suchy was born in a boxing family and the Czech talent made a successful debut in Lindow against a German boxer, Devin Mattern which light welterweight (63kg) bout was open until the last seconds.

Germany’s heavyweight (+80kg) hopefuls, the National gold and silver medallists, Ahmed Abdulgamidov and Malik Aus der Wiesche delighted the local fans in Lindow.
