Rakhi and Sidigov are the best schoolgirls and schoolboys in Al Ain

India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Ukraine shared the schoolgirls and schoolboys gold medals at the ASBC Asian Junior & Schoolboys & Schoolgirls Boxing Championships in Al Ain, UAE today.

Kazakhstan claimed 12 gold medals and topped the medal standings in the smaller age groups ahead of India, Ukraine, Tajikistan, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, Chinese Taipei, Vietnam and Sri Lanka.

Al Ain is a historic oasis city in the UAE near to the boarder of Oman and welcomes the best talents from the 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 age groups.

India’s Deepali Thapa was too smart for Ukraine’s Liudmyla Vasylchenko at the schoolgirls 33kg weight class and she became the first ever boxer in the history of our sport who claimed a gold medal in the ASBC Asian Schoolboys Boxing Championships.

India’s Rakhi defeated her main rivals such as Kazakhstan’s Aruzhan Tillabay and Ukraine’s Veronika Holub at the schoolgirls 43kg weight class following her teammates, Bhoomi’s and Nischal Sharma’s gold medals. The Indian had better finish in this final bout and she claimed not only the title of the weight class but the Best Female Boxer Trophy as well.

Uzbekistan’s Asilbek Rozumbayev, who trains in the Bakhodir Jalolov Sports School, met in a hectic final against Tajikistan’s Anushervon Sidigov at the schoolboys 33kg weight class. Sidigov was smart, his stamina was excellent, and his long-range tactics guaranteed a historic gold medal for Tajikistan and the Best Male Boxer Trophy.

Kazakhstan’s Assylbek Dossymbekov amazed in the previous rounds at the 35kg weight class and he demonstrated his nice technical skills against Uzbekistan’s Yakhyo Komilov but Emir Mukhit (46kg), Abdimansur Zhaksylyk (55kg) and Torekhan Kanatbay (64kg) also impressed on Day10.

The 26 junior finals will be held tomorrow in the championship in Al Ain, the bouts will start at 12:00 local time, same as today.
