Spain’s Marta Lopez Del Arbol is the female star at the Enrique Rodriguez Cal Memorial Tournament

Spain’s Marta Lopez Del Arbol was named as the Best Female Boxer at the 2^nd edition of the Enrique Rodriguez Cal Memorial Tournament in Mostoles where all of the women’s finals featured on Day4.

Spain’s Marta Lopez Del won already four contests at the women’s light flyweight (50kg) during her road to the finals. The Spaniard controlled the first and second rounds against Spain’s Isabel Rivero and she did not make any huge risks in the third to take the first title.

France’s Kaelya Mopin, a 19-year-old talent, eliminated two strong opponents out of her way and she looked fresh in the final of the women’s flyweight (52kg) today. Spain’s Paula Ruiz was competitive for her but the French teenager had the stamina to win the second female title of the tournament.

England’s European Youth Champion Lauren Mackie is only 19 but she had the best combinations against Spain’s Maria Gonzalez to win the bantamweight (54kg) final despite her opponent’s advantage in routine.

France’s Sthelyne Grosy eliminated one of the top Spanish female boxers, Jennifer Fernandez yesterday and she continued the same strong tactical way against England’s Olivia Holmes to win the featherweight (57kg).

Montenegro’s Olympian Bojana Gojkovic is a multiple European Champion who is aiming for her next U22 title in Sofia next month. The Montenegrin was slightly better in the first round than Hungary’s Rebeka Dobos and she won all of the three rounds in this tactical final bout.

England’s Sacha Hickey was taller than Megan De Cler and she tried to use her longer reach in their final. Hickey was not enough quick in this final bout in comparison to the previous events but she managed to win this light welterweight (63kg) contest for the title.

England’s welterweight (66kg) hope, Kayla Allen was brilliant in her semi-final and she worked hard to beat Scotland’s new national team member, Caitlin Rainey today. Dunia Martinez defeated Anastasiya Sokolovska in a Spanish battle at the women’s middleweight (75kg) final.
