Tashkenbay vs. Aratake for the final in Chiang Mai

The top semi-final at the men’s minimumweight (48kg) realized between Kazakhstan’s Sanzhar Tashkenbay and Japan’s Kazuma Aratake at the ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships in the city of Chiang Mai, North Thailand today.

Japan’s Asian Championships silver medallist Kazuma Aratake was dominant in his quarter-final against Sri Lanka’s 26-year-old Thalgamuwalage Nuwan Jinadasa and the referee stopped their quarter-final in the third round.

Aratake will now meet with the defending champion Sanzhar Tashkenbay of Kazakhstan who had a superb success over a technician boxer, Mekhron Shafiyev of Tajikistan. Tashkenbay and Aratake will be boxing in the semi-finals as the repeat match of the 2022 edition final.

Sri Lanka’s Umayanga Mihiran is their best prospect in the recent 15 years and the 21-year-old talent defeated Malaysia’s Muhammad Abdul Qaiyum in the men’s flyweight (51kg) quarter-final to take a historic medal today.

Ukraine’s Yelmir Nabiyev had the advantage in routine and technical skills against Malaysia’s 20-year-old talent, Mohammad Rizal Bin Wahidi and he managed his pathway to the bantamweight (54kg) semi-final.

Uzbekistan’s Youth World Champion from 2021, Shakhzod Muzafarov, kept the full control against Kyrgyzstan’s Asian U22 medallist Islam Torobayev and he became the fourth medallist in this weight class.

Uzbekistan’s Adkhamjon Mukhiddinov developed in terms of strength rapidly and he used his physical skills to beat Saudi Arabia’s Mousa Alhawsaw. The 22-year-old Uzbek finished the bout in the third round following his heavy shots and he advanced to the semi-finals as in Amman two years ago but his performance is absolutely different with upgraded skills.

China’s Abudurexiti Remula and Ukraine’s Paris Olympian Dmytro Lovchinskyi both had the same height and physical skills in their super heavyweight (+92kg) quarter-final. The Xinjiang-based Chinese boxer wanted to win this contest so much and due to his second and third rounds, he made that happen.
