The Final Countdown – Budva is ready to host the biggest boxing event of the year

Montenegro is ready to host the biggest event of the year, the IBA Youth World Boxing Championships for the 17 and 18-year-old boxers. Altogether twenty-five champions will be crowned in the busy event in Montenegro’s boxing city.

The beautiful city of Budva is the host of the next edition of the IBA Youth World Boxing Championships which is famous for its old town, picturesque view and its beaches.

Record number of boxers registered to take part in the championships, 87 countries and over 650 athletes sent their entries to the Montenegrin organizers.

Montenegro hosted plenty of top competitions such as the European Men’s Elite Cup, the European U22 Boxing Championships, the European Women’s Boxing Championships, the European Youth Boxing Championships and the Adriatic Pearl Youth Boxing Cup in the recent years.

The President of Montenegro Boxing, Mr. Aleksandr Klemenko developed the country’s boxing life into the next level in the recent five years.

Boxers who were born in 2006 and in 2007, are eligible to participate in the IBA Youth World Boxing Championships in Budva.

The competition venue is the MSC Budva at Trg. Sunca bb. 85310 which has the capacity of 1850 seats.

The Technical Meeting and the Official Draw of the championships will be held in the Congress Center of the Hotel Budva from 3pm on October 22.

The transportation for all of the teams will be arranged from the bus station of the main street at 2:20pm tomorrow.

The women’s boxers can compete in 12 categories from the minimumweight (48kg) up to the heavyweight (+81kg). The men pugilists can participate in their 13 official divisions from the minimumweight (48kg) up to the super heavyweight (+92kg).

The first competition day will start on October 23 and the finals are scheduled to be held on November 2 and 3 in Budva.
